Going Postal<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

This week on Expanded Perspectives Elite the guys start the show off talking about how thousand year old trees have become the new Ivory trade.\u00a0Global timber theft has grown into a \u201crapidly escalating environmental crime wave\u201d according to a 2012 report by the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) and Interpol, titled Green Carbon, Black Trade<\/em><\/a>. The report estimates that somewhere between 15 to 30 per cent of the global timber trade is conducted through the black market and linked to organized crime\u00a0outfits that wouldn\u2019t balk at trading weapons or humans. Now with armed \u201ctimber cartels\u201d as part of their operation,\u00a0these groups\u00a0have identified profit in the immense value of ancient nature. Then,\u00a0a bag that was used by <\/span>Neil Armstrong<\/span><\/a> to collect rocks from the surface of the <\/span>moon<\/span><\/a> in 1969 will go up for public auction in New York on July 20. It is expected to fetch $4 million or more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, Lon Strickler over at Phantoms and Monsters posted a story that was sent to him recently about a guy, who’s grandfather was killed by a dogman on their family farm back in 1977.
