The Spear of Destiny<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives Elite the guys start off the show talking about how using an unprecedented technique of matching stars to the locations of temples on Earth, a 15-year-old Canadian student says he\u2019s discovered a forgotten Mayan city in Mexico. Images from space suggest he may actually be onto something.\u00a0<\/span>William Gadoury, a teen from Montreal, developed an interest in archaeology after the publication of the Maya calendar announcing the end of the world in 2012. After spending hours poring over diagrams of constellations and maps of known Maya cities, he noticed that the two appeared to be linked; the brightest stars of the\u00a0<\/span>constellations overlaid perfectly with the locations of the largest Maya cities. Then, sand\u00a0sprinkled over a solid metal plate, and then ran a violin bow along the edge to make it vibrate. As if by magic, the grains of sand rearranged themselves into patterns corresponding to various frequencies. Then, the guys bring up a scary Upright Canine Sighting from Florida and\u00a0<\/span>The Phantom Menace<\/em>\u00a0may have spawned one of Star Wars\u2019 most detested characters, but the film\u2019s on-screen trip to\u00a0Otoh Gunga\u00a0gave us a\u00a0look at a piece of tech pined after by fans: the\u00a0A99 aquata breather. The mini mouthpiece\u00a0allowed Obi-wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn to\u00a0travel to Gungan city, breathing underwater like a pair of fish.\u00a0Now, an\u00a0Indigogo campaign\u00a0has raised nearly\u00a0$1 million<\/em>\u00a0for the development of \u201cTriton,\u201d a similar set of \u201celectronic gills\u201d that would obliterate the need for bulky SCUBA gear. It sounds cool, but there\u2019s a problem \u2013 and it\u2019s a big one:\u00a0they\u2019re bunk. After the break Cam brings up the “Spear of Destiny”.\u00a0The Holy Lance, also known as the Holy Spear, the Spear of Destiny,\u00a0or the Lance of Longinus, is the name given to the\u00a0lance\u00a0that pierced the side of\u00a0Jesus\u00a0as he hung on the cross, according to the\u00a0Gospel of John.
