The Missing Texas 40
On this weeks episode of Expanded Perspectives Elite the guys start the show out talking about how a humanoid robot took the stage at the Future Investment Initiative yesterday and had an amusing exchange with the host to the delight of hundreds of delegates. Smartphones were held aloft as Sophia, a robot designed by Hong Kong company Hanson Robotics, gave a presentation that demonstrated her capacity for human expression. Sophia made global headlines when she was granted Saudi citizenship, making the kingdom the first country in the world to offer its citizenship to a robot. Then, a man has a strange encounter one evening while sleeping. Apparently he awoke to find a strange looking little man in his bedroom staring at him.
Then, a young woman in Italy has a rare and mysterious condition that causes her to sweat blood, according to a new report of her case. The 21-year-old told her doctors that, over the last three years, she periodically experienced bleeding from her face and palms, without any cuts or skin lesions. These bleeding episodes typically lasted about 1 to 5 minutes, and were more intense when she was under emotional stress. Then, a man in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada submitted a series of photographs he believes contains an unidentified flying object.
After the break, Cam brings up the strange case of the Texas Missing 40. What is it in the Counties of Montgomery and Liberty that have caused people to vanish without trace? Where do people go when they abandon their vehicles? Why is there such a complete and utter vanishing of people who are catching buses, driving cars, gone out on an errand and living their life peacefully and unobtrusively? Who or what intercepts them so completely with such terrible swiftness that witnesses don’t exist or signs of a struggle apply. A phone call is more than one can hope for but it can also add to the mystery as in No 7 from the List (scroll to the bottom). Lorraine Light, who, in 1989, left groceries unpacked and a message on the machine “which didn’t sound like her” saying that she had met someone and was going to Mexico for a few days. Never to be heard from again. “Extensive research in the two adjoining counties of Montgomery County (population 450,000) and Liberty County (75,000), came up with an astounding 40 people missing. With 40 people missing from two adjoining counties, is it something sinister or is it just a coincidence?” In many of these strange disappearances police records and all the clues seem to vanished over the years and new evidence has to be sourced.
