The Owlman and Others

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives Elite the guys start the show off talking about how on June 3rd of 2018 at around 1:20 a.m. near Johnson City, Tennessee a cab driver and his passenger witnessed something strange crossing the road. According to the witness “My driver did not see the cryptid in question due to him being distracted by the car directly in front of him swerving to avoid it.”The female passenger in his cab asked upon passing the spot where the car had swerved if my driver had seen “it”. When he told her he had not, she described the creature as something about 2 feet tall, running at a high rate of speed across the road on only its hind legs, and had the overall body shape of a Kangaroo. She said the creature was running towards the woods.

Then, in October 1975 at approximately 01:00 a.m. Jack Edleson and Mark Frank were driving north on Interstate 5 from Fresno to their homes in Stockton, when they approached the junction at Highway 152. That’s when they noticed a strange orange glowing object hovering over a nearby field. A beam shot out of the bottom of the large craft and several large bat winged humanoids appeared.

After the break Cam brings up the unusual story and legend of the Cornwall Owlman and a few others.  This blood red-eyed, owl-like humanoid is said to have stalked the young women of the Cornwall area for nearly 40 years. The first known encounter with the creature that would come to be known as the Owlman of Cornwall  — or Owlman of Mawnan, Cornish Owlman or Death Raptor as it also seems to be known — occurred on April 17, 1976. The eyewitnesses were a pair of sisters — 9 year-old Vicky and 12 year-old June Melling — who were on holiday with their family in Cornwall. While walking through the forest the sisters spied what they described as a huge winged creature hovering over the nearby Mawnan church steeple. The youngsters were so terrified by this flying fiend that they immediately ran back to tell their father, Don Melling, about the strange beast that they had seen. Melling — realizing how terrifed his children were — cut their vacation short by three days and immediately returned home to Lancaster.
