On this episode of Expanded Perspectives Elite the guys start the show off talking about how the journal Nature, Stanford University anti-aging researchers reported Wednesday that they have found a “restorative factor for the aged hippocampus.” It’s a protein called tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 2, or TIMP2, that is found in the blood of young humans — and most copiously in umbilical cord blood. Harvested at the time of an infant’s birth, cord blood is a rich source of many known regenerative substances, including some very important stem cells, the kind found in bone marrow. Cord blood is capable of treating more than 80 diseases, including blood cancers, inherited blood diseases such as sickle cell and thalassemia, and a range of immune deficiencies. Then, Lon Strickler over at Phantoms and Monsters reports on a soldier’s very odd sighting in the Ural Mountains in Russia back in 1997. The witness claims to have seen a hair humanoid that began to levitate before fading away.
Then, the ancient stories of the indigenous Heiltsuk Nation people say that their ancestors sheltered on a mysterious strip of coastline in Canada during the last Ice Age. Thanks to a recent discovery of a 14,000-year-old settlement, science is now reaffirming those claims. The discovery was made last year along the Central Coast of British Columbia on Triquet Island, CBC News reports. Teams of archaeologists from the Hakai Institute, University of Victoria, and local First Nations found the remains of charcoal, tools, fish hooks, spears used to hunt marine mammals, and even a hand drill used for lighting fires. Based on the analysis of charcoal found, it’s estimated the settlement was established around 13,613 to 14,086 years ago. This makes it one of the oldest human settlements in North America. It also means it’s twice as old as the invention of the wheel, three times older than the Pyramids of Giza, and thousands of years before all of the ice age megafauna went extinct. Then, a man in northern Italy on Tuesday released photographs of an unidentified object in the sky. The anonymous man says he saw this on a webcam facing the western skies. The device is reportedly owned by the company he works for. The Italian explains that the camera takes a picture every 10 minutes and each shot has an exposure time of 15 seconds. The image, taken on April 3 at 9:40 p.m., shows an elongated green UFO with a series of orange lights set in a straight row located to its top right.
